Elahe Izadi

Elahe Izadi is a D.C.-based standup comic and political journalist. She grew up in rural Maryland and is the daughter of Iranian immigrants who own an Italian restaurant, so yeah, she has plenty to talk about. Her act offers a fresh perspective on the world – unless you think the media is run by curly-haired Middle Eastern women who love 90’s R&B. Her jokes are a mixture of observational wit and storytelling. Elahe has performed at DC Improv, SuluDC and BloomBars. She can also be a serious lady, having previously covered race and class for an NPR Project Argo blog. You can catch her online writing about Congress and lobbying for National Journal, where she occasionally brings the funny to stuffy Washington. She also and loves Twitter. Seriously, check out the tweets on that one. (@ElaheIzadi)
