Women in Comedy Festival

Featuring Amy Sedaris, Mara Bamford, Wendy Leibman, Judy Gold, Cameron Esposito, Jackie Kashian & Erin Jackson

Boston, MA – The 6th Annual Women in Comedy Festival (WICF) will be held in Boston and Cambridge, Thursday, May 8th to Sunday, May 11th.  This year’s headliners are Amy Sedaris, Maria Bamford (Arrested Development), Wendy Leibman, Judy Gold (World's Dumbest), Cameron Esposito, Jackie Kashian and Erin Jackson.

This year’s festival will kick-off with Maria Bamford, who’s back by popular demand on May 8th at the 1,200 seat Wilbur Theatre. Shows will be held throughout the weekend at premier comedy venues such as the legendary Comedy Studio in Cambridge, ImprovBoston, the brand-new 300-seat stand-up venue Laugh Boston, and Club Passim, located in the heart of Harvard Square. The festival will host 33 shows with over 200 performers, as well workshops and panel discussions.

Since its inception, the Women In Comedy Festival has hosted thousands of artists from all over country, including Maria Bamford, Horatio Sanz, Kristen Schaal, Rachel Dratch, Wendy Liebman, Carol Leifer, Jackie Kashian, Morgan Murphy, Jill Talley, Jen Kirkman, and Edie McClurg.

"Our mission is to create a forum for people to experience the comedic expression of women, see strong female performers and, most importantly, to entertain", says festival co-producer Maria Ciampa. “We want to close the gender gap in comedy,” continues co-producer Michelle Barbera.
